Sample question — pulled straight from Activity 2 of the Sectional Chart Practice Pack.

Question 2 of 4

Referring to Figure 23 of the FAA Airman Knowledge Testing Supplement, what is the floor of the Class C airspace surrounding Savannah/Hilton Head International (SAV) at the 40 nm arc?

  • A. Surface (SFC)
  • B. 1,300 ft MSL ✓ correct on the answer key
  • C. 4,000 ft MSL

Explanation: Class C airspace shelf at the outer ring (10-20 nm) typically starts at 1,200 ft AGL. SAV's elevation is ~52 ft so the floor reads 1,300 ft MSL on the chart.
